Whether you’re a disc golf enthusiast, pickleball pro, aspiring swimmer, softball aficionado, or tennis prodigy, our park programs offer an array of opportunities for individuals of all ages and skill levels to stay active, connect with others, and embrace the spirit of friendly competition.
Est. in 2008, The Sunnyside Disc Golf Course is a full 18 hole course and is rated one of the best in the state of Iowa. With lots elevation, mature hardwoods, water, interesting obstacles, and multiple lanes it is a fun challenge for players of all skill ranges. Call the Atlantic Parks and Recreation Office today at (712) 243-3542 to check out a set of discs to tests your skills today.

Join us for exhilarating doubles pickleball action every Sunday at Sunnyside Park! Mark your calendars for pick-up games on May 1st and May 8th to warm up those paddles and hone your skills. Our official season kicks off on May 15th, running through June 27th for seven weeks of thrilling matches. Secure your spot for just $10 and get ready to rally from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Location is at the Basketball Court in Sunnyside Park.

Dive into summer fun with the Atlantic Summer Swim Team, proudly representing our community in the Tri-State Conference! From June 1 – July 3, join Coach Tierney Kamies at Sunnyside Pool for exhilarating practices from noon to 12:50pm. Registration kicks off on May 10th at Washington Elementary, with a fee of $30 for the first child and $25 for additional children. This exciting program includes regular practices, thrilling swim meets, and an unforgettable end-of-the-year party. Participants will purchase their own team swimsuit, t-shirts, and goggles which will be available through Swim Team. For any inquiries, reach out to Tierney at 249-9339. Deadline to sign up is June 1st! Parents Meeting will be on Tuesday, May 31st, at 7pm at the YMCA.
Calling all young tennis enthusiasts! Dive into the world of tennis this summer with our Youth Tennis program, running from June 6th to June 30th. Open to students from kindergarten to 12th grade, sessions will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8am, 9am, and 10am. Get ready to showcase your skills at both Sunnyside Tennis Courts and Washington Elementary Tennis Courts.
The registration fee is $25 for the first child and $20 for additional children, with rackets and practice balls available for purchase. Led by instructor Jake Arneson and assisted by high school tennis players, this program promises a fun and enriching experience for all participants. Have any questions?
