Atlantic Parks & Recreation: The Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission serves as an advisory body to the City Council. The main responsibility of the Commission is to advise on the facilities needed to provide open space such as parks, playgrounds, and community facilities or other forms of recreation. The Commission also oversees City programs to enhance the leisure time activities of the residents of the City of Atlantic.
The Commission consists of five members who are selected from the City-At-Large and are appointed by the Mayor, subject to Council approval. Members serve two-year staggered terms.
Commission meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 3:30 pm at the Parks & Recreation office located at 1200 Sunnyside Lane.
